How Does ThrottleShare Work?
ThrottleShare is a peer-to-peer powersports rental marketplace. Renters search by location, browse private owner listings for ATVs, UTVs, jet skis, and more, and book through Stripe-secured checkout. Owners list for free and keep 100% of their listed rate — renters pay a 10% service fee on top. Available on iOS and Android.
For Renters: How to Book
- 1. Download the app or visit ThrottleShare.com. Available on iOS App Store and Google Play.
- 2. Search your destination. Enter location and dates. Filter by vehicle type — ATVs, UTVs, jet skis, snowmobiles, and more.
- 3. Browse listings. Compare photos, daily rates, owner ratings, machine details, and availability.
- 4. Book and pay. Select dates, complete Stripe checkout. Booking is confirmed when the owner accepts.
- 5. Coordinate pickup. Message the owner to arrange time and meeting point.
- 6. Ride and return. Get the owner's machine briefing. Photograph at pickup and return. Review the owner after your trip.
For Owners: How to List and Earn
- 1. List for free. No listing fees or subscriptions. Add your machine with photos, description, and daily rate.
- 2. Set your terms. Define availability, minimum renter age, security deposit, pickup rules.
- 3. Receive booking requests. Review renter profiles and approve or decline.
- 4. Get paid. Stripe processes the renter's payment. You receive 100% of your listed rate. The 10% service fee is charged to the renter — not you.
- 5. Hand off and repeat. Meet the renter, brief them on the machine, and earn repeat income.
The Fee Model
ThrottleShare's fee structure is simple: owners pay nothing and keep 100% of their listed rate. Renters pay a 10% service fee on top of the owner's price at checkout. On a $150/day ATV rental, the renter pays $165 total. The owner receives $150. ThrottleShare takes $15.
This is different from platforms like Outdoorsy and Turo which charge owners 15–35% in addition to renter fees.
