Checklist
- FWC says anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 must have a Boating Safety Education Identification Card to legally operate a boat in Florida.
- FWC guidance applies to motorboats of 10 horsepower or greater, and operators should carry photo identification with the education card when required.
- Rental operators, marinas, counties, and launch locations may have additional livery, safety, or local waterway rules.
